What is Fearless Witness?

Fearless Witness is an evangelism ministry that began around 2006-2007. In high school, the Lord used a number of godly influences in my life to focus me on telling people about Jesus.

In 2007, an average of 150,000 people died every day. According to statistics, only about 32% of the world's population identifies as Christian (that includes belief systems such as Mormonism and Jehovah's Witnessess, who are clearly not Christians in any meaningful sense of the word). This means that on the average day more than 102,000 people walk off into eternity without Jesus Christ. In the average week, about 714,000 die in their sins. And, in one year, an average of 37,230,000 people walk off into Hell for eternity.

That bothers me. Charles Spurgeon, a great preacher who acts today as one of my dead mentors through his writings, said, "Have you no wish for others to be saved? Then you are not saved yourself. Be sure of that." Jesus has appointed all believers to spread the gospel. In Matthew 28:19, the last spoken word from our Lord recorded by Matthew reads, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son of of the Holy Spirit. Jesus, Paul, Peter, Stephen, Barnabus, Mary, John the Baptist, and John the apostle all shared the gospel. John Calvin, John Wesley, Charles Spurgeon, and George Whitefield all preached the gospel outside of their pulpits. If all of those people took Jesus' command seriously and verbally shared the gospel, then so should we.

In Romans 10:14, Paul gives this exhortation to the church at Rome: "How then will they call on Him whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in Him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?" It is the next statement in verse 15 that drives this website: "And how are they to preach unless they are sent?"

Evangelism is the responsibility of every believer. Whether quiet, outgoing, introverted, or extroverted, if you are saved you should talk about Jesus. I want to challenge you to obey the commands of Scripture. I want to challenge you to be a fearless witness for Jesus Christ.
