"Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction."

Live Weak

Have you ever seen a "Live Strong" bracelet (pictured left)? Perhaps you have even worn one yourself. I see these everywhere: athletes, teens and adults walking down the street, and even children. I even use to wear one a long time ago. The idea is something that resonates with us: Live Strong. Do not give in. Use your strengths. Rely on yourself. I started thinking about this entire concept recently during a witnessing encounter I had with five young people. Read More . . .

The Myth of Noah's Ark?

Irving Finkel, an expert in ancient Mesopotamia, has reported historical finds that suggest Noah’s ark was actually round, contrary to modern models. He makes this claim based off of an ancient tablet he found...Finkel is saying there are connections between Noah’s Ark and this ancient Babylonian myth. What is he implying? That the Bible is simply retelling old stories. Read More . . .

The Greatest Scripture Twister of All Time

TwisterOn December 26 I started going through a “read the Bible in a year” plan. The schedule I am using had you begin by reading Genesis and Matthew alongside each other, completing a couple chapters each day. As I read the stories of the fall of man (Genesis 3) and the temptation of Christ (Matthew 4:1-11) I could not help but notice a few similarities in Satan’s tactics. Read More . . .

Is Grace Really Enough? (1 Cor. 1:4-9)

Is grace really enough for you? Is it enough for your every day life? Is it enough for God to use you how He wants to? Is it enough that you can serve Him with every fiber of your being until the day you walk off into eternity? In this second section on 1 Corinthians, we learn how the apostle Paul answered all of these questions for the early Church. Read More . . .

He Made The Stars...Also

Scientists tell us that Red Dwarf stars are no more than 50% the mass of the sun. To give you an example, Proxima Centauri (the closest star to Earth) is 200,000 kilometers across (about 124,274 miles). Have you ever been looking out at a majestic landmark on Earth (such as the Grand Canyon) and thought our planet was simply massive? Earth’s circumference is only 24,902 miles, paling in comparison to Proxima Centauri—a Red Dwarf (emphasis on the word 'Dwarf'). Read More . . .

Two New Articles

Relativism (12/9/2009) - How many times have you hear this statement when witnessing: "Your truth is your truth." The modern (or should I say, postmodern) world is denying absolute truth and issues such as spirituality, lifestyles, and even morality are becoming "relative." How do we respond to this as Chritians living in today's world?

Friendly Fire (12/14/2009) - One of the deepest and most dangerous spiritual weapon Satan uses to keep you from sharing the gospel is a discouraging word from a fellow believer. Be encouraged. And learn how to recover after you suffer a case of, "Friendly fire."

Constructs of Reality

Postmodernism and spirituality are in. Absolute, objective truth is becoming a sin of the past that is nothing short of intolerant, oppressive, and ignorant. Spirituality in our country is without a doubt on the rise, but based on my conversations, a desire to find truth is on a steep decline. Walk up to any person and ask, "Are you spiritual?" And they will likely answer in the affirmative. Oprah is spiritual. The Baha'i faith is spiritual. Wicca is spiritual. Even a modern day strain of "Christianity" is spiritual. But the moment you say you are right and somebody else is wrong, you just went from healthy spirituality into oppressive bigotry.

A couple days ago while out talking to people, I had the pleasure of meeting a woman by the name of Mary-Anne. She loved spirituality. But she could not stand the biblical claims of absolute truth. Read More . . .
