10 Ways to Get a False Conversion

1. Be sure to use relevant language that will not be offensive to the person you are witnessing to. Avoid using words such as 'sin' 'repent' and 'judgment' at all costs.

2. Emphasize the idea that God is not actually angry with our sin, He just has a better life planned for us if we will follow Jesus.

3. Make it as clear as possible that God loves you exactly as you are in your sin. He has no desire for you to repent of your sin and live a life of holiness.

4. Only talk about God's love. Never mention His wrath. It is offensive.

5. Avoid mentioning hell at all costs.

6. Don't necessarily emphasize the exclusivity of salvation in Jesus Christ alone. Try to sound open and tolerant.

7. Use the phrase "Ask Jesus into your heart" as much as possible.

8. Promise the person Jesus is whatever they need. For example, if they are down, promise happiness. If they are poor, promise material wealth. Say things like "Jesus will give you fulfillment in this life."

9. Encourage the person to give Jesus a try. Simply tell him that if he isn't satisfied, then he doesn't have to remain a Christian.

10. When you are finished talking, lead the person in a sinner's prayer, no matter what they said during the conversation.

Unfortunately, each of the above are common marks of modern evangelistic methods. Please, brother or sister, do not fall into these modern techniques. They are sure ways to mislead a sinner into a watered down 'salvation' that is actually anything but. Stick to the Bible, and leave the rest up to the Lord.
